About the device
ProDisc-L is a lumbar total disc replacement made by Centinel Spine. It uses metal endplates anchored to the vertebrae by a central keel, with a polyethylene inlay that lets the lower back keep its natural motion.
ProDisc-L is the only lumbar total disc replacement system approved in the United States for use at two adjacent levels, which gives surgeons an option for patients whose pain comes from two neighboring discs.
Who it's designed for
Adults with low back pain from degenerative disc disease at one or two adjacent levels between L3 and S1, after at least six months of non-surgical care.
