About the device
ProDisc-C is a cervical total disc replacement made by Centinel Spine. It replaces a damaged disc in the neck, typically between C3 and C7, with a two-part metal endplate design and a polyethylene core that allows the level to bend and rotate.
The ProDisc design has been studied for decades, and the cervical version has been available in the United States since the mid-2000s. Current versions of the implant come in several footprint and height options so the surgeon can match it to the patient's anatomy.
Who it's designed for
Adults with arm pain, numbness or weakness caused by a herniated or degenerated disc at one level of the neck, whose symptoms haven't improved with non-surgical care.
